After spending a lot of time walking around Long Beach, capturing its atmosphere through photography, I was inspired to create this stop-motion video. The piece layers a swaying palm tree over a first-person drive through a residential area, reflecting the fleeting, dreamlike nature of movement and memory. I meticulously took each frame, printed them out, and rescanned them to introduce a raw, textured effect, enhancing the video’s hazy, distorted aesthetic. To complete the experience, I composed an original soundtrack, using my background in music production and sound design to craft an ambient, immersive soundscape that deepens the film’s hypnotic rhythm.
